All,   At tonight’s high adventure meeting we had enough commitment to register one crew for Northern Tier next summer with 7 of the 8 slots filled.  It is the 10-day trek out of Ely, MN and will run from July 26 to August 5.  The last crew spot is up for grabs to whomever can commit the soonest.  I know there are at least 5 others interested in Northern Tier and if we can get at least that many committed, we can potentially register a second crew (Crew sizes are 6-8). 

Parents,  After this past week’s Troop meeting regarding high adventure opportunities, a group of scouts continued their interest in wanting to get a Northern Tier crew together for next summer and a few scouts expressed interest in Florida Sea Base.  With that said, we are going to have a parent’s high adventure informational/planning meeting this Thursday at 7 pm during PLC (at the pavilion near the cemetery) so we can get firm commitments and hopefully register this week. 

I wanted to give a heads up on next week’s troop meeting as it will be a presentation on high adventure opportunities presented by Dan Uhle.  For the younger parents, Dan is a past Scoutmaster of Troop 918 and father of multiple Troop 918 Eagle Scouts. 

2026 Jefferson Barracks Memorial Day Good Turn

Scouts of all ages from across the council are invited to participate in the Memorial Day Good Turn on May 24, 2026—Check-in for Jefferson Barracks Good Turn, hosted by Gravois Trail District. Registration will be from 10:30 am until 11:30 am with the procession into the cemetery beginning at 11:30 am. Upon check-in, the unit leader or designated adult will receive a map and participation ribbon. A Memorial Day Good Turn patch is available for $5.00, and segment patches are $1.00.

Trail Ride at Nagel Explorer Base (Beaumont) 

On May 9 the Troop is scheduled for a horseback trail ride at Beaumont.  The program will start at 1:30 pm and last approximately 1.5 hours, of which about 45 minutes will be the actual riding.  

Congratulations to Jason Pate who earned BSA's top rank of Eagle Scout last night at the Boone Trails District boards!

Jason is the 78th scout in Troop 918's history to earn his Eagle.
